The NEPW members take part in various group activities/projects throughout the year. Some of these are at the request of other local organisations, while others are instigated by the members themselves

The work involved can often be challenging and covers a wide spectrum of photographic skills, including subject areas such as Landscapes, Wildlife, Action, Portraiture( both studio based and outdoor) and many others.

Some of our work for 2005 is described below and can be viewed, along with other projects, on the 'Location & Workshop' page.

Following on from this year's successful exhibition at the Minories in Colchester. We have been invited to create set of imges for display in 2006.
The subject this time is People and Portraits, in particular, pictures of people at work & play, mainly in the Colchester/Clacton area.
Generally classed as 'environmental portraiture' it is an interesting area of photography and promises to be a challenge for many members.

TENDRING SHOW 2006 PROJECTS.
NEPW members are currently working on new projects for the 2006 Tendring Show. The first Is a follow-up to the 2005 show's very popular 'Village Portraits' competition panels. Only this time the panels will consist of 'portraits' of all the towns in the Tendring District and will be used as subjects for a competition run on the same lines as the 'Villages' competition.
Another related project is the close-up photograph competition, especially for children. A number of close-up photos of items, taken from unusual angles, will be displayed and entrants will have to discover what they represent.
Last but not least we will also have our usual exhibition of Members' best photographs.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION AT THE MINORIES, COLCHESTER.
During November/October several members exhibited their work at a special exhibition at the Minories in Colchester.
The theme of the exhibition was 'Contemporary Images of Colchester'. Our brief was to produce images of the town that were different from the traditional style of photograph.
Members took up the challenge and were able to produce a wide range of images that portrayed their particular impressions of Colchester, including close-ups, night shots, architectural and even some abstracts.
