Photographing C.A.O.S.

Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting the Clacton Amateur Operatic Society to take photographs of the company rehearsing for their next production, 'The Queen of Hearts'. Despite the somewhat limited space we managed to obtain some interesting images of members of the cast in action. We have been invited to attend their, technical & dress rehearsals, later in the month to take pictures of them in full costume.

Guest Speaker from the R.P.S.

Mr John Anderson, was our guest speaker on 4th December John was until recently the Eastern Region secretary of the RPS, a post he had held for some six years. His talk, entitled 'In Dim Eclipse', was about the history of the nude in pictorial art, from the earliest prehistoric representations up to the modern day glamour photography. His talk was illustrated with slides showing examples of the nude, from prehistoric carvings through Greek and Roman statues to impressionist paintings. He also discussed the nude in pictorial photography, with examples of early nude images, Victorian 'Art' photographs, and modern pictorial nudes. He concluded his talk with some examples of his own pictorial nudes and glamour shots, and some hints and tips on how to get started in nude photography.
