15th December, Members' met at the Esplanade Hotel in Clacton, for their annual Christmas Dinner.

Slide Competition.
2nd December, NEPW members provided 10 slides for entry in an inter-club slide competition hosted by Alresford Camera Club at the Village Hall in Alresford.

Best of Tendring Competition Winners' Reception.
29th November, Winners' Reception & Presentation.
All winners were invited to attend a reception and award presentation at Clacton Town Hall. The event was held in the Connaught room and Chairman's Parlour.
Tendring Council Chairman, Mary Bragg welcomed the winners and presented the awards.

Best of Tendring 2005 Competition Judging.
15th November, Competition Judges assembled in The Connaught Room at Clacton Town Hall to select the winners of this year's competion.

An Evening with Vic Hainsworth.
13th September, Members were treated to an entertaining and informative evening with Vic Hainsworth, our first guest speaker for the 2005 Winter season .
His main topic was landscapes, but he also included some architectural and abstract photographs.
It was a very lively evening with much light hearted banter between Vic and the members,
Vic also answered a number of questions from the audience.
We look forward to a return visit in the new year,

NEPW visit Harwich Lifeboat.
16th August, NEPW members' visited Harwich for an evening of location photography.
They photographed the area along the dockside and ferry area.
They were also able to visit the Harwich lifeboat and were welcomed on board by the Coxswain. They were able to get many shots of the Lifeboat and the reserve Lifeboat.
The group intend to present the Lifeboat crew with an album of the best shots later in the year.

NEPW at the Tendring Hundred Show.
9th July, Several members' exhibited their photographs on our stand at the show this year.
There were in excess of 60 prints on display covering a wide range of subjects including landscapes, abstract, portrait, wildlife, close-up.macro and others.
There were many digital images, but film has not been abandoned by the members and there was a good selection of images produced by traditional methods.
Also on display in the Community Marquee, were 28 large panels depicting villages in the Tendring District. All the images were produced and mounted by members' working in small groups over recent months.
The 'Guess the Village' competition was very popular with visitors to the show. Visitors had to name all the villages depicted on the panels, not an easy task, but there were clues on each panel.
The winner will receive a digital camera kindly donated by Snappy Snaps, Clacton.

Minories Exhibition, Colchester.
23rd June, Over 35 of members' photographs have been selected for an exhibition at The Minories in Colchester.
The exhibition, in August, will feature contemporary images of Colchester.

An Evening of Location Photography.
14th June, Cliff & Ivan photographed the Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society's production of 'The Ghost Train'.
Other members visited Little Bentley Hall for the evening.
They were able to photograph a range of subjects including Architecture, Wildlife, Close-up and Landscapes.

'Village Portraits' an Evening of Location Photography.
7th June, The members Separated into small groups to complete the 'Village Portrait' project.
Each group visited selected Villages in the Tendring District to take photographs, which will be displayed on individual panels at The Tendring Hundred Show in July.

Clacton Amateur Operatic Society's Production of 'Annie get your gun'.
16th April, Cliff, Mel, Mike & Ivan were at the Prince's Theatre photographing the Clacton Amateur Operatic Society's production of 'Annie Get Your Gun'.

NEPW Photograph Colchester Project'.
26th April, A group of NEPW members visited Colchester for an evening of environmental photography. The photographs will be exhibited at 'The Minories' in Colchester later in the year.

Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society's Production of 'Murdered to Death'.
16th March, Cliff & Ivan spent the evening at the Westcliff Theatre photographing the Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society's production of the comedy thriller,'Murdered to Death'.

An Evening with Nigel Pepper.
22nd February. Nigel Pepper, winner of the 2004 Best of
Tendring Competition, was our guest for the evening. He described
how he had started out in photography by taking pictures at pop
concerts and later moving into bird photography, specialising in the
many species of Gulls. He brought along a selection of his bird
photographs many of which have been published. He also showed some
of his more recent work, producing panoramic landscapes.

Launching of Best of Tendring 2005 Photography
Competition.
19th February. This years competition was launched at Clacton
Town Hall.
Members of NEPW were present along with representatives from the
Council, Sponsors and Clacton Library.

Westcliff Theatre Stage Foundation's Production of 'Half a
Sixpence'.
10th February, four of our members were present at the
Westcliff Theatre to photograph the Clacton Junior Drama Group's
production of the musical 'Half a
Sixpence' .
Copies of the images were exibited in the foyer for sale to the
members of the audience and the cast.

Close-up/Macro Evening.
8th February, member Bob Cowing spoke on the subject of
macro/close-up photography. He demonstrated the use of various
items of equipment from his extesive collection of lenses,
extension tubes, bellows, flash units etc.
Other members used his equipment to take some close-ups of various
items. The prints will be examined at the next meeting.

Visiting Speaker from Boxted.
18th January, Ian Lindsay from Boxted, presented an
entertaining and informative slide show.
The subject was a walk that he undertook from Suffolk to Somerset
a distance of some 320 miles.
He illustrated his talk with numerous excellent slides taken
during his walk.
Most of the walk was along the Icknield way,and his slides
depicted the beautiful and varied landscapes that he encountered
along the way, as well as some of the flora and fauna.

Photographic Display at Clacton Library.
January, during the month there will be an exhibition of
mounted photographs taken by members.
|
Photographic Display at the Westcliff Theatre.
1st to 4th January several members displayed framed examples of
their work in the foyer of the theatre.
Also on display were the group's photographs of the Amateur
Operatic Society's, ''Beauty and The Beast.
