NEPW at the TENDRING HUNDRED SHOW.
14th, July,2007, Members staged and extensive exhibition of over 120 prints in the Education marquee. In our own tent we had several displays of our work.
'The Tendring Coastline' was a project in which members' were allocated individual sections of the coastline from Manningtree to Brightlingsea and were asked to take images depicting their own personal view of the area.
Nick & Paula Webb demonstrated 'Sun Prints', which was very popular with the children, who were able to make silhouette prints of their hands and feet or of items such as leaves, flowers and other objects.
Bob Cowing & Sid Tyes demonstrated close-up photography with a continuous slide show of their work.
Other items were two quizzes for children, a Tendring Churches quiz, a display of work by the Theatre Location Group and sections on how to avoid common photographic mistakes and take better photos.

NEPW Photographers at the Westcliff Theatre,Clacton.
29th December, The Theatre group of four NEPW Members' visited the Westcliff Theatre, Clacton to photograph Clacton Amateur Operatic Society's production of the popular pantomime, 'Aladdin'.
The group were able to produce a portfolio containing some excellent images of the production for the cast.
The theatre location team were: Melanie Davis, Clifford Field, Mike Vaughan Chatfield and Ivan Harris.

Members' Photo Exhibition at the Westcliff Theatre.
29th December, An exhibition of Members' photographs is on display in the foyer of the Westcliff Theatre for the month of January.
The photographs include abstract, land/seascpes, wildlife and other subject matter, in both digital and traditional techniques.

Annual Christmas Dinner.
22nd December, NEPW Members met at the Kings Cliff Hotel, Holland on Sea, for their annual Christmas Dinner.
The excellent meal was followed by the presentation of a gift to Mike Vaughan-Chatfield in appreciation of all his work on behalf of the group.

NEPW Photographers at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester.
16th October, A group of four NEPW Members' visited the Mercury Theatre in Colchester to photograph the Colchester Operatic Society's production of 'Godspell'. The group were able to produce a portfolio containing wide range of stunning images of the production for the cast.
The theatre location team were: Melanie Davis, Clifford Field, Mike Vaughan Chatfield and Ivan Harris.

Evening visit to Green Island Gardens.
8th August, Members' spent the evening at The Green Island Gardens, near Ardleigh. The 20 acre gardens gave members the opportunity to photograph many unusual plants in the attractive gardens. There are a number of garden layouts including a 'Seaside' Garden and a Chinese garden as well as a nursery where visitors can purchase some of the unusual plants growing in the gardens.

Location Evening at Brightlingsea.
1st August, Brightlingsea was the venue for a 'location' evening, when we descended on the picturesque town to take photos of the buildings, the hard and river areas. Members' split into small groups to visit different parts of the town and surrounding area.

Exhibition at The Westcliff Theatre Clacton.
1st August, An exhibition of over 90 photographs by NEPW Members' at the Westcliff Theatre in Clacton.
The Exibition will run for the whole of August and includes a variety of subject matter in Black & white and Colour and in both Film and Digital techniques.
The Exhibition is kindly sponsored by 'Range', who have a branch in Valley Rd., Clacton.

Visit to Colchester and Wivenhoe.
25th July, Members first visited the old docks at Hythe, Colchester to take photographs of the derelict workings. We then went on to Wivenhoe for a photo session taking some images of the old town and also the newly redeveloped areas along the riverside.

NEPW Exhibits at The 2006 Tendring Hundred Show.
8th July, NEPW were present in force at The 2006 Tendring Hundred Show.
As well as our usual photographic display, there was a stand where visitors could try their hand at making Sun Prints. Techniques of close-up photography were demonstrated on another stand.
Our 'Guess the Towns of Tendring' photo competition was a popular attraction, as were the two 'Mystery Close-up' picture competitions for children.

Visit of The BUG MAN.
18th April. An unusual and fascinating evening of challenging close-up work was provided by the 'Bug Man' who brought along a selection of exotic 'bugs'
These ranged from a 3ft long Iguana, Giant Millipedes, Various Snakes, Preying Mantis and even Scorpions.
Natural looking backgrounds were provided in the form of gravel, logs, branches etc.
Members' had to work hard to get their photographs as the creatures were continually moving around, making focussing and composition very difficult.

11th April. Harold and Hadje Moulsley made a return visit to show more of their excellent images of Thailand.

NEW Photography Competition Launched.
8th April. A new local photographic competition was launched today.
The'Best of Tendring & Colchester Photography Competition', is an extension of the popular 'Best of Tendring' competition that has taken place in previous years.
This year the competition has been enlarged to include the Colchester area, which means that residents of Colchester and the surrounding district are eligible to enter.
This is good news for photographers in Brightlingsea who in previous years have not been able to take part.

NEPW Exhibition at Clacton Library.
1st April, Several members have provided photographs for a month long Exhibition in Clacton Library. There are a wide range of subjects from Landscape to Abstract Images.

Dog Training Session.
14th March. The location photography subject this week was dogs. Members' attended a dog training session at Beaumont Village Hall and were able to take photos of various dog breeds undergoing training.

Portrait Session.
3rd March. Snappy Snaps Studio in Station Rd., Clacton was the venue for tonight's photo location. The members were able to photograph two attractive models using various lighting set-ups and poses.
